We didn’t have enough money to pay for the meal (không nói pay the meal). Nhưng we say pay a bill / a fine / a fee / tax / rent… không có giới từ: We didn’t have enough money to pay the rent. I’ll never forgive them for what they did. When I realised I was wrong, I apologised (to them) for my mistake.

She always keeps her promises. depend + when / where / how… có thể có hoặc không có on: ‘It depends how much it is.’ (hoặc ‘It depends on how much…’). Michael’s salary is very low. It isn’t enough to live on. I congratulated her on doing so well in her exams. The meal was really good. I complimented Mark on his cooking skills.
