Từ nối bổ sung thông tin (Addition)
Khi muốn thêm một ý nữa, bạn chọn từ nối theo vị trí và mức độ trang trọng: also (giữa câu), too / as well (cuối câu), plus / what’s more (thân mật), besides (trung tính), in addition / moreover / furthermore (trang trọng). Riêng as well as và in addition to thì đi với danh từ / V-ing.

also / too / as well
also, too, as well cùng mang nghĩa “cũng”, chỉ khác nhau ở vị trí trong câu.
- I like tea. I like coffee too. — Tôi thích trà. Tôi cũng thích cà phê.
Từ nối đầu câu
moreover, in addition, besides đứng đầu một câu mới và có dấu phẩy theo sau.
- The hotel is clean. Besides, the staff are friendly. — Khách sạn sạch sẽ. Ngoài ra, nhân viên thân thiện.
Lưu ý
- Trong câu phủ định, hãy dùng either thay cho too: “I don’t like it either”, không phải “I don’t like it too”.
- besides (ngoài ra) khác với beside (bên cạnh): “sit beside me” là nói về vị trí.
